ChOSEN medical participants from Amarillo, TX performed sophisticated eye surgery on 74 impoverished Mexican individuals during a three-day medical initiative organized at the University of Montemorelos’ surgery facility in Cunduacán, Tabasco from April 24-26, 2016. All 74 patients underwent phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation for the treatment of advanced cataracts. ChOSEN provided not only the USA board-certified ophthalmologist and his skilled medical staff as volunteers, but also the premium surgical materials necessary for each patient to achieve an excellent outcome at no cost to the patient. Christian evangelists proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord, and Spanish Bibles were distributed to patients and their family members.

The hard-work of the 5 people who left their families and jobs to volunteer for this project, as well as the monetary gifts from ChOSEN donors, made this venture an extraordinary success and a tremendous blessing to the visually-impaired poor of Tabasco.
